Vita

As a researcher in the “DISAPEER” project since September 2024, Sarah Wendt examines social configurations and practices in research assessment, especially in the academic publishing system and peer review processes. Her focus is on qualitative social research, epistemic diversity and (historically grown) power relations within academia.

Sarah studied Global Studies at Humboldt University Berlin, University of Pretoria, Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi and FLACSO Argentina. The various places, institutions and local and global collectives in which she was and is involved, especially with regard to the decolonization of knowledge, shape her understanding of concepts of epistemic justice and epistemic diversity. From 2022 to 2024 she worked at the BIH QUEST Center for Responsible Research at the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin on the evaluation of programs for the transformation of biomedical research and global health, as well as on topics related to open science and reproducibility of research.
