Vita
Rocío Fonseca studied Sociology (B.A.) at the Universidad Autónoma de México and Science Studies (M.A.) at the Humboldt University of Berlin. Her bachelor's thesis is devoted to the role that simbolic recognition and evaluation play in Bourdieu's theory of practice, contrasting it with Luc Boltanski's and Áxel Honneth's critique of Bourdieu's theorethical framework. Her master's thesis is empirical, and examines the organization that enables the evaluation of scholarly work during the journal peer review process, with particular emphasis on the role of scholarly editors play in this evaluation situation. Since December 2020, she is a researcher in the project: Automated misconduct detection: Uses and effects of digital tools for investigating research misconduct (AUTO).
